After Hours ER Service

If your pet becomes injured or sick outside normal business hours, call the clinic immediately. Instructions will be available on how to contact the after-hours on-call veterinarian.

Examples of emergency situations can include:

Wounds -anything that is bleeding or lacerated deeper than a superficial scratch. Heavy bleeding that does not stop within 5 minutes, or is coming from the nose, mouth, or rectum.

Trauma – car accidents, struck by another object, animal attacks, seizures

Breathing problems ­– difficulty breathing, coughing or choking uncontrollably

Elimination difficulties – pain while urinating or defecating, including not doing either for 12 or more hours which could indicate a blockage

Eye injuries – bleeding, swelling or discharge from the eye

Extremity pain – difficulty standing or walking, experiencing disorientation or extreme anxious behavior

Severe vomiting or diarrhea ­multiple times a day

Not eating or drinking ­– not eating or drinking for more than 24 hours

Fever – rectal temperature of more than 103 degrees

Labor difficulties – if labor continues for several hours between deliveries
